CEDAR LAKE CAMP ZIP LINES

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ’S)

What makes us different from other outdoor companies?

The founders of Cedar Lake Camp Zip Lines have been offering zip lines, challenge courses, and outdoors adventures for 15 years.  We are committed to the highest level of customer service to ensure an experience that lasts a lifetime.

What is the age requirement?

We do not have minimum age requirement. If a child is 70lbs or less they can fly tandem with another adult in the party as long as the maximum weight does not exceed 250lbs. Additionally, all participants must be able to fit in to one of our harnesses.

What type of equipment do you use?

We use full body harnesses designed specifically for zip lines.  We use equipment that meets or exceeds the ACCT standards for challenge courses and zip lines; including harnesses, pulleys, helmets, and lanyards.

Do children need to be accompanied by an adult?

Yes, all minor children (under the age of 18) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or another responsible adult.

Are you insured/permitted?

Cedar Lake Camp Zip Lines is fully insured and permitted for the activities that we offer.

Can you pick us up?

We do not currently provide transportation; our convenient location (less than 5 minutes from Big Bear Lake Village) makes us easy to get to.  There are several local businesses that offer shuttle service to our site.

Where are you located?

We are conveniently located less than 5 minutes from the heart of the Big Bear Village in Big Bear Lake, at the top of Mill Creek Rd.

How are your guides trained?

Our guides undergo a rigorous screening and training process. They are trained and certified according to the ACCT guidelines. Our training is conducted by nationally recognized staff who have been in the field/industry for 20+ years.  Cedar Lake Camp Zip Lines is a drug free company.  We conduct on-going training for all guides.

Can I bring a camera on the tour?

Yes! We encourage you to bring cameras and capture the beautiful scenery available year-round.  Our guides will assist you in securing cameras with lanyards, keeping your hands free to enjoy the ride!  Make sure you pause for a group photo between zip lines 2 and 3 where a panoramic view of Big Bear Lake serves as your backdrop.

How long does the tour take?

Depending on which tour you choose and number of participants in the group, you can expect to spend anywhere from 1-2 hours on the Black Bear Tour and 2-3 hours on the Grizzly Tour.

What if it rains/snows?

Cedar Lake Camp Zip Lines operates year-round and in all types of weather. Our guests must wear close-toed shoes, and we recommend they dress in layers during the cooler months.  The Zip Lines may be closed during thunder/lightning storms and episodes of high winds due to the increased risk factor. If tours are delayed due to weather we will do our best to accommodate by rescheduling.  Road conditions can be checked by calling CalTrans 1-800-427-7623.

What time of day do you do zip lining tours?

Times vary depending on the day. Typically, we zip line from sun-up to sun-down. Call our office to find out the available times and to pre-register.

Can we do only one zip?

Our lines are set up in a circuit which does not allow for only 1 zip. The Black Bear Tour is 3 zips and the Grizzly Tour is 5 zips.

Can I stay and watch?

People are welcome to stay and observe. Our Zip Lines are oriented in a circuit. Observers will only be able to see the first and last Zip Line. All guests will be asked to complete a registration form and release of liability.
